Business Intelligence & Analytics

The job market is comprised of multiple interconnected parts and calculations that benefit from the deep analytics of business intelligence. It is not cookie-cutter analysis.

IFW is built on Microsoft® Power BI business intelligence.  Drill-down, drill-around, and drill-through provide 360-degree analysis with minimal training.

Large, complex environments require flexible uses of the data and presentation to suit their own unique needs.

IFW offers many forms of customization at the reporting, dashboard, and visual levels. The analytic dataset is available for premises integration.

Distributed enterprise analysis requires flexibility in user deployment, performance scale, and sharing.

IFW offers multiple user roles with sharing based on user roles and groups. Performance is scalable with Microsoft® Power BI capacity.

Having a known source of data provides full assurance of the propriety of the insights.

IFW is based on known Indeed®, Glassdoor®, and InsideView® databases with full traceability to the underlying detail.

Job Market Orientation

Job titles are constantly changing and standard occupations (e.g. SOC) cannot possibly keep up with the nuances of a changing job market.

IFW uses a deep database of 100,000 unique job titles that capture the changing nature of the job market. Titles are then coupled to occupations.

Postings as a raw value are incomplete and even misleading. Up to 30% of postings are repostings. Characterizing job movement and fill status is essential.

IFW tracks and classifies postings as repostings, estimated filled, and open. Filled rates and open jobs aging are computed and time trended.

Ad rates are only posted on 30% of all job postings providing an inaccurate and incomplete picture. Surveys from employees over time provide a much better picture of compensation.

IFW pulls compensation data from employee surveys as well as posted rates. Data is updated quarterly to understand changes over time.

Base salaries are only one component of overall compensation. Additional pay and benefits are increasingly critical in competing for top talent.

IFW provides variable compensation (e.g. bonus, overtime, profit sharing) and sources by job title. IFW also provides compensation by years of experience.

Current compensation levels may not be commensurate with requirements or position expectations.

IFW measures salary satisfaction levels by title over time and benchmarks satisfaction against the broader job market.

Companies fall into many categories based on size, diversity, operating type (e.g. private, government) and industry. Company segmentation informs talent competition and career choices.

IFW classifies employers by multiple criteria including size (employees, revenues), diversity (minority, woman, veteran ownership), operating type, and industry (NAICS, InsideView, SIC).

Employee satisfaction and employee view of work-life balance are essential ingredients in recruiting top talent and making career choices.

IFW tracks millions of Indeed® survey ratings and updates results quarterly. The Indeed® Happiness Survey provides work-life ratings over a wide spectrum across thousands of companies.

Compensation Benchmarking

Compensation is highly variable across employers and understanding the range of company compensation informs competition for talent and career decisions.

IFW provides compensation by employer and benchmarks each employer’s compensation levels to all employers for each job title.

Supply and demand is constantly changing especially in a post-pandemic world. Historical government projections are no longer accurate.

IFW uses a rolling set of resumés and job postings (netted for repostings). IFW calculates a supply/demand ratio to benchmark at any level.

Skills provide the blueprint to match careers and aptitudes with job positions. However, skills can be very subjective and vague. Assessments are standardized tests providing an objective standard.

IFW curates over 5 million Indeed® assessment results by proficiency. Typical skills, resumé skills, education level, and college are also provided.

Understanding the makeup of students and where students are receiving credentials informs talent acquisition and career development.

IFW provides millions of current resumés at the postsecondary level with the ability to explore related employment, assessments, regions, and employers at no additional cost.
